Student Loan Forgiveness Offered for SUD/Drug Treatment Work in Underserved Areas

The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has announced details about a new student loan forgiveness program for licensed professional counselors working in approved substance use disorder and drug treatment programs in underserved areas.

 

Successful applicants can have up to $75,000 in loans forgiven. Applications are due February 21. This program was authorized by Congress last October.

 

HRSA also announced that applications for the existing loan forgiveness program for healthcare professionals are due on February 21. Learn more about the program and its requirements.
