FCA Awards of Excellence Nominations

Florida Counseling Association Awards for Excellence

Awards and recognition will be presented at the FCA Convention in September/October. 

The following categories will be recognized:

  • Email any applicable supporting documents to the FCA Office, Attention Awards Committee at: fcaoffice@flacounseling.org
  • Contact the FCA Office for any additional information or assistance

FCA Advocate Award 

The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual or organization which has made a significant contribution to the improvement of the counseling profession in Florida.

1) Complete the Nomination Form

2) Using the "Overall Justification", "Personal Justification", and "Additional Considerations" on the form, please address the following:

  • Exemplary support of or outstanding promotion of the counseling and human services profession.
  • Explain why you feel the nominee should be the person selected to receive this award.

The “Jeff Siskind” Leadership Award 

As the FCA Executive Director, Jeff Siskind demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities.  This award is designed to recognize an individual or an organization who/that has made a significant contribution in leading their Chapter, Division, and Association.

1) Complete the Nomination Form

2) Using the "Overall Justification", "Personal Justification", and "Additional Considerations" on the form, please address the following:

  • Description of the actions and behaviors that illustrate the nominee’s leadership skills.
  • Explain why you feel the nominee should be the person selected to receive this award.

FCA Member of the Year 

The purpose of this award is to recognize a member who has made a significant contribution to FCA.

1) Complete the Nomination Form

2) Using the "Overall Justification", "Personal Justification", and "Additional Considerations" on the form, please address the following:

  • Describe the contributions which the individual has made.
  • Supplemental evidence to support the nomination is acceptable.  This information could be contributions to an FCA chapter or division or any national division or office.
Additional criteria required:
  • The nominee must be a FCA member a minimum of 3 years
  • The nominee must hold a master’s degree in the counseling field or have worked within the human services field for a minimum of 5 years
  • The nominee must have significantly contributed to the growth and development of FCA.

The “Pete Fisher” Humanitarian Award 

The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual or organization which has made a significant contribution for the betterment of humanity and the human condition.

1) Complete the Nomination Form

2) Using the "Overall Justification", "Personal Justification", and "Additional Considerations" on the form, please address the following:

    • Description of the actions, incidents, or behaviors that illustrate the nominee’s caring in a personal way.
    • Description of the actions, incidents, or behaviors the nominee’s caring through social action.
    • Explain why you feel the nominee should be the person selected to receive this award.

 

    

 

 

BEST DIVISION MEMBERSHIP SERVICE AND/OR BEST MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN 2021-2022

The purpose of this award is to recognize the division that best promotes the counseling profession or a division that creatively recruited new membership to the division.  

1) Complete the Nomination Form

2) Using the "Overall Justification", "Personal Justification", and "Additional Considerations" on the form, please address the following:

    • A brief description of the program or service and the results you achieved
    • Who was the target audience: (i.e., current members, new members, the community)
    • How did the division assess the needs of members and how was this used to develop the appropriate service or program?
    • What were the goals and objectives of the service or program?
    • Describe the process used to carry out the program or project.
    • What was the timeline followed?
    • How did the division measure the success of the service or program? (i.e., increased membership, increased attendance, increased revenue, increased visibility in the community).

BEST DIVISION NEWSLETTER 2021-2022

The purpose of this award is to recognize the division that publishes a newsletter in a timely fashion and informs, educates, and motivates to participate actively in division activities.  

1) Complete the Nomination Form

2) Using the "Overall Justification", "Personal Justification", and "Additional Considerations" on the form, please address the following:

    • What is the budget for producing the publication?
    • What is the circulation of this publication?
    • What is the format for this publication? (i.e., 8 ½ X 11”, 12 pages)
    • What is the frequency of this publication? (monthly, quarterly)
    • What are the goals and objectives of this publication?
    • What method of production and distribution is used for this publication?
    • How does this publication serve the division’s needs as determined by its goals?





Outstanding Division of the Year 2021-2022

This award is designed to recognize the division who best demonstrated the objectives of an FCA division. 

1) Complete the Nomination Form

2) Using the "Overall Justification", "Personal Justification", and "Additional Considerations" on the form, please address the following:

    • What were the goals and objectives of your division?
    • How did you determine these goals and objectives (i.e., needs assessment)?
    • What activities and/or programs did you institute in order to carry out these goals and objectives?
    • What was the timeline that was followed?
    • How did the division evaluate the success of these activities and/or programs in carrying out these goals and objectives
