FCA IN-PERSON CONVENTION GRADUATE STUDENT VOLUNTEER GENERAL INFORMATION
ATTENTION FCA GRADUATE STUDENT MEMBERS!
Are you thinking about attending the upcoming 76th Annual FCA Convention this fall? Would you like get involved? Would you like to network with other graduate students, professionals, and leaders in the counseling field? Would you like to be a part of an AMAZING in-person Convention? If you answered YES to any or all of these questions, then the Graduate Student Volunteer Program (GSVP) may be for you!
The 2025 FCA Convention will be held from Thursday, November 13, 2025 through Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This year's theme is “Rewriting the Self: Navigating Identity, Belonging, and Mental health in a Society of Expectations.”
All interested graduate students, please follow these steps:
Step 1: If applicable, check your student membership status (you must be an active graduate student member in order to qualify to be a volunteer.) If you are not currently a member, we hope you will consider joining. Visit our website at: www.flacounseling.org and click on the Membership webpage. If you have any questions about your membership, etc., please contact the FCA Office at fcaoffice@flacounseling.org.
Step 2: Complete the Graduate Student Volunteer Program (GSVP) Application Form HERE. This is your application to be considered for the GSVP. (This is not a guarantee for approval – please wait for the acceptance letter BEFORE registering for the convention.) The deadline to complete the GSVP application is September 26, 2025. Please apply early as there are limited spots for this opportunity.
Step 3: All applications will be reviewed, and an acceptance letter will be emailed by October 3, 2025.
Step 4: All accepted volunteers must email the GSVP Coordinator by Sunday, October 12, 2025, with their acceptance and firm commitment to be available for the dates of the Convention. You must also register by this day.
