Trauma and Immigration

Individuals who immigrate to the United States experience multiple and highly complex stressors that may have lasting traumatic impact on their mental health. Common causes of trauma relate to acculturation, discrimination, employment, legal status and potential deportation, language acquisition, and separation from family and community of origin. In this webinar participants learn to make counseling services culturally-responsive to the needs of the immigrant population with trauma.
