Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Adults with ADHD

This 2-Hour live webinar explores how adults with ADHD often struggle with executive functioning, emotional regulation, procrastination, and translating intentions into action. This interactive presentation explores evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions that address these challenges while reducing shame and strengthening self-efficacy. Participants will learn practical strategies for improving organization, time management, emotional regulation, and behavioral follow-through. Emphasizing neurodiversity-affirming, culturally responsive care, the session highlights how counselors can empower adults with ADHD to build resilience, advocate for their needs, and achieve meaningful change.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Conceptualize adult ADHD using a CBT framework that integrates executive-function deficits, maladaptive cognitions, emotional dysregulation, and behavioral avoidance.
2. Apply evidence-based CBT interventions to address procrastination, time management, organization, emotional regulation, and difficulties translating intentions into action.
3. Develop individualized, culturally responsive, and neurodiversity-affirming CBT strategies that enhance self-efficacy, improve daily functioning, and promote resilience and self-advocacy among adults with ADHD.
