We are excited to be returning to an in-person venue this year! This year’s convention will be held over the course of three days. On Thursday, we will offer a full day of focused educational session. On Friday and Saturday, we will have full days of educational sessions and poster sessions focusing on this year's theme and improving counselor training, professional development and identity, and client care.
We have received approval for continuing education credits for the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling and the National Board of Certified Counselors.
Pre-Convention. . . Thursday, November 14. . . 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and again at 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Dr. Christina McGrath and Dr. Raul Machuca will be presenting a morning three-hour CE course entitled: "Telemental Health Counseling." In the afternoon, Dr. McGrath will present a three-hour CE course, "Ethics and Boundaries." There is an additional fee for these courses, e.g., for both - Professionals is $100 and for Students it is $60.
We are also pleased to offer students and other colleagues informative sessions on discussing and answering questions related to licensure in Florida as well as a session on tips for applying and completing a Ph.D. program from those who have accomplished this feat! There is an additional fee of $10 per course for these sessions.
Convention. . . . Friday, November 15 through Saturday, November 16
Starting on Friday, November 15, at 9 a.m. we will offer focused educational sessions along with our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Jonathan Sperry.
Jon Sperry, Ph.D., LMHC, NCC is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Lynn University and a staff therapist at the Counseling and Psychological Services at Florida Atlantic University. He is past president of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP) and is currently the Co-Editor of the Journal of Individual Psychology. He has co-authored eight textbooks and has lectured in 24 different countries.
We will end the day with our GALA event! Full registration and Friday only registrants will receive a ticket to Friday night's Gala event! Our annual awards will also be presented at this time. Additional tickets can be purchased during the registration process.
We are pleased to also offer present Poster Sessions from students. The total number of CEs offered for Friday is approximately 5-6 hours.
Then we repeat it all again on Saturday with more great presentations. The total number of CEs offered: approximately 5-6 hours. Our Plenary Speaker is Dr. Aaron Norton.
Dr. Aaron Norton is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with certifications in addictions, alcohol and drug counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical mental health counseling, trauma treatment, forensic mental health evaluation, forensic behavioral analysis, telehealth, and forensic psychometry. He serves as executive director of the National Board of Forensic Evaluators, assistant professor of instruction at the University of South Dept. of Mental Health Law & Policy, consulting editor of the American Mental Health Counselors Association’s “The Advocate” magazine, and chair of the Government Relations Committee for the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association.

We are offering the opportunity to our members and colleagues to register before October 13 to SAVE on their registration rates. Starting on October 14, all registration fees will be raised by $25.00. Our two-day full convention registration fee includes continuing education credits (approximately 11-12 hours), breaks, and a ticket to Friday night's Gala event (non-transferable). Our Friday Only registration fee includes CEs and a ticket to Friday night's Gala event (non-transferable). Our Saturday Only registration fee includes CEs. Please note, lunch is on your own all three days.

Registration Cancellation Policy. . . .
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees, please familiarize yourself with the following registration policy. Your registration fee provides access to all convention activities, including plenary and keynote speeches, educational sessions, networking luncheons, and the exhibit hall. Registration fees are non-refundable, except in the case of a natural disaster (e.g., a hurricane, flood, tornado) that significantly impacts your ability to attend the convention. In such cases, a refund will be provided upon submission of a formal refund request along with appropriate documentation. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and we are committed to supporting our participants to the best of our ability.
Please note:
- A refund of 50% of the registration fee will be provided if the request is made 30 days prior to the FCA Convention in the case of a natural disaster.
- A refund of 25% of the registration fee will be provided if the request is made 15 days prior to the FCA Convention in the case of a natural disaster.
