Presented by

Michelle O. Ilugbusi,

Peace Within: Counseling for Women,

Orlando, Florida

Approved for 1.5 hours of continuing education for the

Religion can be a topic that rarely comes up in the counseling space, but if we took the time to explore it with clients we might find they've been more impacted by it than we realize. This presentation will allow attendees to learn more about religious trauma, its impacts, and how we as a profession can do more to support this population.

Learning Objectives

  • Define Religious Trauma
  • Examine how spiritual abuse originates and turns into religious trauma
  • Describe ways to support clients living with religious trauma
