FAMCD, ARCA, & NCRE Webinar Series*
Webinar Overview:
Our profession is becoming so diverse that it may reflect a microcosm of race relations in the United States (Sue & Sue, 2003). This webinar is designed to teach broaching as a multicultural competence tool. When we broach racial and cultural differences client retention is enhanced, clients report higher satisfaction, counselors and supervisors are seen as experts, and our individual differences are acknowledged and honored.
Learning/Training Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify what helps and hinders cross-cultural counseling and supervisory relationships.
- Participants will be able to recognize broaching styles and behaviors as a multicultural competence tool.
- Participants will be able to discuss findings from research studies on broaching behaviors in cross-racial relationships.
