FACES presents the following webinar, open to all counselor educators and supervisors as an FCA service to the community in light of COVID-19:

An Introduction to Tele-Mental Health Counseling in the era of COVID-19

Presenter:

Martin Cortez Wesley, PhD., LMHC, LPCC-S, NCC, MAC BC-TMH

Short Description: This training gives the attendee an introduction into the practice of Tele-mental Health Counseling amidst the COVID-19 outbreak. Currently, we are being encouraged and often required to practice social distancing, yet it is also essential to continue services to our clients when anxiety and stress levels are at an all-time high. This training will help the attendee understand the basics of Tele-mental Health Counseling to better serve our clients.

Note: the HHS Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is not enforcing and waiving penalties for HIPAA violations against health care providers that serve patients in good faith through everyday communications technologies, such as FaceTime or Skype, during the COVID-19 nationwide public health emergency.

About the Presenter: Dr. Martin Wesley is the chair of the Florida Department of Counseling at National Louis University. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Board Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider. He lives and works in the Tampa Florida area.
